If we spend more than 30 seconds above Manchester United, mainstream media will go into an apoplectic meltdown. How very DARE we???

Of course, the timing couldn't be better. January transfer window. How dare these obviously good players stay with oiky West Ham? Don't they want European football (NOW!!!). Don't they want to play with and against the best???

Move! Move all you good players! Save your careers! More importantly, move to one of our favourite clubs and save our reputations.

Is it wrong that I still count the point until the 40-safe-from-relegation level?

Re: The next four games....
It's the West Ham way, win those last 4 and lose the next 4 !

However I'm optimistic

Quina to have a blinder Saturday with a point to prove

2-2

Southampton 1-2
Burnley 0-1
Brighton 4-0

Re: The next four games....
I said it would define our season and it has. But now expectations are high. But so is the confidence in the team.

I can't see any reason that the next four games are tougher than the last. Is it possible that we can win eight on the trot? I'd love that to happen but I can't see it. We're going to drop a point.

Watford (h) Win
Southampton (a) WIN
Burnley (a) Draw
Brighton (h) Win

I predicted a five point haul from these four games. So pleased to be completely wrong.

12 out of 12.
Chuffed.
In El Pel I trust.
See how a little bit of optimism and positivity can be an advantage.
One thing I have noticed when abroad I listen on radio. Even the games we have lost away the support and noise made by West Hams away army sounds like a home game to me.
Ffs just one win from opening 4 and we would be above the Mancs. Positive thinking and the next few games we have the chance to excel and overtake them.

Everyone is comfy on the ball, there is no reason we can't go right on the bounce. Very un west ham I know. Today could've been classic west ham but it wasn't it was easy. Bring it on .Coyi

Re: The next four games....
Anyone call this on and truly believe it?

Newcastle (a) WIN
Cardiff (h) WIN
Palace (h) WIN
Fulham (a) WIN

Now onto the next four...

Watford (h) DRAW
Southampton (a) WIN
Burnley (a) DRAW
Brighton (h) WIN

32 points in the New Year and looking up, because we can’t go and win 8 on the bounce... can we?!

I'm delighted with the 9 and hope I'm wrong with my expected and we get the full house.

This section of the season has been like the best of Bilic months. Just hope it doesn't end in the same way.

I'm already wrong (said 7 PTS) so I really must INSIST we throw the Fulham game eleventy nil just to make me feel more cleverer. Shitbags.

I guessed 8. Beating Cardiff and Fulham, drawing the other two. Even at the ground today I went for 2v2 today. Delighted to be wrong.

Re: The next four games....
I thought we should get 12, but also that we'd let ourselves down and get half, or slightly more, of that.

Really pleased that we are beating sides we should beat, so often our failing in the past.

Re: The next four games....
Reading through this thread I don't think anyone predicted that we would beat Newcastle and hardly anyone thought we could beat Palace. So 9 out of 12 so far. Hopefully it will be 12 out of 12.

It is the first time we have won 3 consecutive league games since December 2016 and
the first time we have won 3 games and scored 3 goals in each since Oct 1982!
Well done Pellegrini.

I haven't got my trumpet with me to blow.

But I'm on 9 points out of my predicted 12. And I know fuck all about football compared to El Pel.

What about WHO , sorry I mean YOU.

I do indeed have my claret and blue tinted glasses seeing another 3 points on the way and 4 consecutive wins.

My life can be a disasterous but my support of El Pel and our players is unwavering.

COYIs

Ps Zaha the pineapple is a cunt and the referee must have connections or support of Palace within one of the boroughs making or bordering Palace.

Pellegrinis Claret and Blue Army.
It's time. A nice morale booster to show our appreciation for not respecting the point and having empathy for what we want and the West Ham Way .

worryingly that's probably the return of points from those games.
what I would say is if Newcastle are capable of 3 straight wins with that squad then Pellegrini must deliver between now and xmas based on the fixtures or serious concerns

Re: The next four games....
the fact some of us are not confident on all 4 tells me we're not much further forward than this time last year in respect of expectations.

my view is Pellegrini has better players at this disposal and we're entering a key time in his spell and by xmas lets hope he steered towards 25+ points

Re: The next four games....
Problem we have is that Pellegrini's transformation plan ( play a passing game ) requires a whole new mentality and a replacement of many first team starters and the squad as a whole.

The 100 million was a start and was only ever going to be. Does not mean we need to be spending that every season but does mean for 2 or 3 windows we need to be bringing in new players to that value and trading off those that do not fit the style, philosophy.

This season I have seen us keeping the ball ( possession ) far better but because we are only just starting on the "journey" as Pellegrini puts it, we have gaping holes in terms of technical quality on the ball and athleticsm and pace IMO. We need different full backs asap. Zabaletta can do a job this season and has the technical quality still but at 33/34 he is going to be exposed against the better teams / players and those with pace. Cresswell and Arfur are not up to it IMO.

Then central midfield needs probably 2 to come in. Noble is increasingly struggling with the pace especially without a strong athletic ( but still technically good) partner. Snodgrass has actually done well trying to do the off the ball closing down but he is short of pace and strength IMO. Rice is having to cope on his own in some games trying to cover for the midfield

On top of all this is now the inability to convert chances. We make more now but are not turning them into goals.

This last point is going to be critical in the next 8 games. I can see us getting the lions share of possession but am not convinced that will translate to goals and results.

Look at Burnley last night, dominated the possession at times but had no cutting edge and while they created a few chances they never really looked like scoring. Admittedly we are a better passing side then Burnley and have some better individuals but are still 3 , maybe 4 quality players short of being a top 8 side.

I will be happy with anything north of 8 points in the next 8 games but can see where Pellegrini is trying to get us. Hopefully he will get the time and money needed/
